    Welcome to mmskanpur.org
The year 2007-2008 has been a glorious one for us in Academics, as the School achieved the best result in town. The overall performance of the ICSE and ISC students has created history. A brief summary of the academic results is being given for your perusal.

The project method of learning is adopted in order to sustain and internalize learning. The curriculum that is evolved for each class focuses attention on academic excellence on the one hand, and overall development of human personality on the other. Education at all levels is also viewed today as acquisition of skills rather than bookish knowledge. As such, the curriculum imposes the imperative of including in it a variety of activities that impart skills that can form the basis for a career later on. It is with this purpose in mind that all sorts of activities such as art and craft, music, dance and drama, gymnastics, yoga and mass display of fitness and the learning of computers etc. are included in the curriculum. Children are encouraged to be analytical, creative and expressive. A well-stocked library-cum-resource centre has been set up for the benefit of both teachers and students.

The School is equipped with all the facilities needed in a School for doing well include Modern Science laboratories, various activity centers of work experience, Library, Computer network and Internet, and LCD Labs. We also produce good results in the Board examinations and never stop at anything in improving our performance every year.

AN APPEAL TO THE ALUMNI OF MERCY MEMORIAL SCHOOL, KIDWAI NAGAR, KANPUR. I quote the memories of an ex-student, the way he thought and felt. “When in 1983, I first walked into the gates of ‘Mercy Memorial School’, with my parents; I too had my doubts and fears as a kid. My fears were dispelled with the passing of time, the warm feelings of love and comfort. With which I was made to feel at home by my teachers, who taught me everything I could ever hope for. My childhood was nurtured in an atmosphere of absolute security and solace. Academics, games and co-curricular activities gave a balanced outlook to me, in my life.” “As I walk down memory lane, I still remember that it was in the year 1995, when suddenly I felt that a kid had grown up into a man, it became very difficult to leave the place, where I was trained, to face the world, leaving behind so many cherished memories, I had in me. After so many years of leaving this institution, I still hum the school song, ‘Onward Mercians Onward, into the world we go……………’ and the school motto “Let Your Light Shine”, is deeply embedded in my mind and soul. Today I can proudly say that the moral teachings of my ‘alma mater’ have helped me to be a worthy citizen of this country. The seed of faith, self confidence and determination sown in the mind of that innocent kid, who walked into this institution with so many doubts in his mind, has helped me reach my goals in life. I will always remain indebted to this second mother of mine, for guiding, nurturing and leading me to the place and position that I hold today and I am sure that I can groom, both my children and nurture my family, through the teachings of Mercy Memorial, which will always flow through the veins in my body and keep its true value, alive.” “Thank you “mamma’, for making my dreams come true”. A decade’s pressing demand of the trans G.T part of Kanpur city, known as Kidwai Nagar, had been for a good English Medium Institution in that area. Responding to their urge and desire, Mrs. Sophie Shukla, through the aegis of Huddard Junior High School Society which exists primarily for the Education of Christian children but allows its institutions to admit children irrespective of caste and creed, established this School in the memory of her worthy sister, Ms Mercy Roberts, in 'Y' Block, Kidwai Nagar, in the year 1983.  [ More ... ]
