4 Education System6

The year 2007-2008 has been a glorious one for us in Academics, as the School achieved the best result in town. The overall performance of the ICSE and ISC students has created history. A brief summary of the academic results is being given for your perusal.

The entire school is distributed in two spacious buildings, the senior wing and the junior wing. The junior wing runs classes from Play Group to Class V, the senior wing from Class VI to Class XII.

The emphasis is laid on the development of a child’s physical, intellectual, emotional, aesthetic and social aspects of personality. The children are offered ample opportunities for learning by doing, and the children’s individual progress is monitored closely.

The project method of learning is adopted in order to sustain and internalize learning. The curriculum that is evolved for each class focuses attention on academic excellence on the one hand, and overall development of human personality on the other. Education at all levels is also viewed today as acquisition of skills rather than bookish knowledge. As such, the curriculum imposes the imperative of including in it a variety of activities that impart skills that can form the basis for a career later on. It is with this purpose in mind that all sorts of activities such as art and craft, music, dance and drama, gymnastics, yoga and mass display of fitness and the learning of computers etc. are included in the curriculum. Children are encouraged to be analytical, creative and expressive. A well-stocked library-cum-resource centre has been set up for the benefit of both teachers and students.

The School is equipped with all the facilities needed in a School for doing well include Modern Science laboratories, various activity centers of work experience, Library, Computer network and Internet, and LCD Labs. We also produce good results in the Board examinations and never stop at anything in improving our performance every year.

4 Academic Programme6

English is the first language and the instruction of all the subjects is conducted in English.

The other compulsory and optional subjects are developed according to the pattern of I. C. S. E. and I. S. C.  Boards. S. U. P. W., Music, Games, Environmental Studies, Art & Craft also form part of the academics

Science Stream: English, EVS, Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology, Biotech, Computer

4 Evaluation6

Our system of evaluation takes into account the individualities of different children to provide adequate feedback on the student's learning without putting undue pressure. As the child progresses through the classes, the assessment is gradually modified to prepare external tests and competitive exams.

For Playgroup/Prep/Nursery students are graded and promoted based on regular assessments. For classes First onwards, regular cyclic tests for subject and class wise are taken by the school.

Weekly tests and class assignments are held for all the classes to ensure a complete session of the lessons taught in class.

Evaluation Section is helpful in maintaining records, churning out Report Cards, data of Students and various computer-related activities. Special emphasis is laid on keeping records and maintaining a standard in computer work.

4 Education Environment6

Class Rooms : The class rooms are interactive having proper light and proper ventilation. Excessive students are omitted. Our class rooms are big enough to carry voice and vision of teacher to each and every student.

Interactivity : Group discussions, internal seminars, external seminars, visits by eminent guest faculty / speakers, field visits, project work, inter and intra school literacy, cultural, sport and information technology activities form an integral part of learning at school.

Discipline : By discipline we mean to develop three major aspects of our students' personality.

1. To make the student responsible on his/her own-the sense or responsibility  that becomes a part of the inner core of an individual.
2. To transform an egoistic individual into a loving and lovable social being.
3. To make our students conscious and aware of their role in society.

Awards and Scholarships :

 The toppers of the Board Exams are awarded with the prestigious "Sophia Ratna Award" for their excellent performance.

Discipline can be imbibed in each student by intersection of knowledge, skill and desire - as habit. The school  rules are strictly enforced as without discipline it is not possible to achieve excellence in any field.

The most courteous behavior and language, the highest ethics and morale are ensured and any deviation is strictly dealt with. The house system with  4 houses encourages discipline through a peer group structure and nourishes the competitive spirit through inter-house contests. The prefectorial system with a Head Boy and Head Girl at the helm, further ensures discipline and smooth students functioning. The Student's Council is encouraged to deliberate over matters concerning students and a problem solving culture is inculcated.

Entertainment : The school encourages the children to watch educative & informative programmes on television and regular movie sessions. The school canteen is another warm & entertaining place on our campus. During the summer & winter vacations, study tours within India organized to further explore the outside world.
